Reporting a meter reading
Report the reading of electricity, gas, water or heat meters to your property manager with a photo.
How to report a meter reading
- On the home page, tap Meter reading – or choose More › Report a meter reading in the menu.
- Under Which meter?, choose the meter. There you can also see the last known reading and – if your property manager has announced a reading – the reference date (“Reading by …”). If your meter is not in the list, choose Different meter – enter number, then your flat under Flat / unit, and enter the Meter number – it is on the meter, often next to a barcode. Meters with two readings (peak and off-peak tariff, import and export) are not in the list – see If it does not work.
- Under Meter reading, enter the reading as it appears on the register (decimal places with a decimal point, for example
12345.6), and under Read on the date of the reading. The portal rejects an entry such as12.345because the point could separate thousands or decimal places – in that case write12345or12,345for twelve thousand three hundred and forty-five. - Ideally, photograph the register with the meter number (Take or choose a photo) – your property manager can then accept the reading without having to ask.
- Tap Send meter reading.
If the reading you entered is lower than the last known one, the portal points this out before sending – usually a digit has been swapped. If the meter has been replaced, send the reading anyway.
If your property manager has set a deadline (“Reading by …”) and your reading is still missing, the portal reminds you by email one week and one day beforehand – unless you have unsubscribed from reminders (see Notifications).
If your property manager has not accepted a reported reading, it does not count as done: the reading then stays under What needs to be done?, and the reminder before the deadline still applies. You will find the reason under Your reports; afterwards, report the reading again.
What happens next
Your property manager checks every reading for plausibility, for example whether it is higher than the last known reading and whether the consumption matches the period. Under Your reports you can see the result:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Sent | The reading has been sent and is being passed on to your property manager. |
| Accepted | Your property manager has recorded the reading. A note below it points out anything unusual, for example if the reading is lower than before or the consumption is unusually high or low. In that case, please check the reading again. |
| Not accepted | The reading could not be assigned or accepted – the reason is shown below it (for example an unknown meter number, a date before a reading that has already been recorded, or a meter that has been removed). |
If it does not work
| Message | What you can do |
|---|---|
| “Please enter the reading unambiguously, e.g. 12,345.6 – with ‘…’ it is unclear whether the full stop separates thousands or decimal places.” | Enter the reading without a full stop as thousands separator and with a decimal point for decimal places, for example 12345 or 12345.6. |
| “Please enter the reading as a number, e.g. …” | Enter only digits and at most one decimal point – no letters, units or spaces in between. |
| “Please enter the meter number (shown on the meter).” | For Different meter – enter number, copy the number from the meter. |
| “Please enter the reading date.” | Enter the date under Read on. |
| “The reading date must not be in the future.” | Enter the date on which you actually read the meter. |
| “The reading date is more than 90 days ago. Please report the current reading.” | Read the meter again and report today's reading. |
| “This meter has several registers – your property manager will record the reading.” | Your meter shows two readings (for example peak and off-peak tariff, or import and export). Such meters do not appear in the list; send the readings with a photo as a request – your property manager will enter them. |
| “Please attach no more than one photo.” | Choose only one photo of the register. |
| “Please attach a photo of the meter as evidence.” | Choose a photo (JPEG or PNG) instead of another file. |
| “No further reports of this kind are possible today. Please try again tomorrow.” | You have already reported a great many meter readings today; you can continue tomorrow. |
| “No unit is assigned to your access. Please report the reading via a request.” | Use Submit a request to send the reading to your property manager as a request. |
